Appointment Cancellation and Late Arrival Policy

At Shoreline Animal Hospital, we understand that sometimes you need to cancel or reschedule your pet’s appointment. We ask that you give us a call or text message when you are unable to keep your appointment. As a courtesy, we provide reminder text messages and phone confirmations before every appointment.

When appointments are not cancelled or rescheduled with advance notice, another pet may not be able to be seen that day to receive medical care. We strive to be on time for your scheduled appointments and ask that you give us a call when you are unable to keep your appointment or if you are running behind. We have outlined our appointment cancellation and late arrival policy below.

Our Office Cancellation Policy

The purpose of this cancellation policy is to enable us to provide better service and access to care for all of our established and future clients.

We require 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule appointments. If the appointment was made for a sick patient the same day as the appointment, we require at least 2 hours’ notice. A cancellation or request to reschedule made less than 24 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment (or 2 hours from the same day appointment) will invoke a cancellation fee of $50.00.

Should you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your scheduled appointment, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to see your pet or provide services that day. If we cannot accommodate you, the same cancellation fee of $50 will be charged. We will try our best to reschedule your appointment for another time that suits you.

We realize that life happens, schedules change, and emergencies occur. If you do need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we simply request that you inform us as soon as possible. In case of a true, unforeseen, and unavoidable emergency, a cancellation fee may be charged, but part or full amount of it may be deducted from your future appointment cost.

In the case of multiple, repeated cancellations, you may be required to prepay for any visits or services prior to making appointments.

RX Policy

We have implemented a new process to enhance the efficiency and quality of our services. As part of this update, we now require 72 hours to process and prepare RX medication for pick-up and one week for RX food orders. Allowing us this timeframe guarantees that your prescriptions will be ready when you arrive without unnecessary delays.

We understand that prompt access to medications and food is vital to your pets’ well-being, and we genuinely appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this new policy. We recommend you plan and submit promptly to facilitate a seamless transition to your RX request. This will ensure we can process your orders and meet your needs effectively.

Additionally, we request that all RX food orders be pre-paid at the time of order placement.
